Amen again, to a great guy. I met "Fr. Jim" in the mid 80's when he was covering a summer mass for one of our vacationing parish priests. It was an instant freindship. Our paths crossed many times after that until one late morning in 1990 when I was returning to the L after a loop around the Island. He invited me to join him and the rest of the group any noon time.
Little did I know that two years later after running with the "Noon Time Nuts" would he present me with my official Red Noon Time Nut hat after completing the 92 Marathon. It is in safe keeping and will always be cherished.
He was always there to pick up the rear with the new guy or a slow injured runner and he was a friend by the time you finished the run.
He could also "give it" as much as "he took it", as will many Nuts attest.
His raised arm marathon photo hangs in my office as a testament to a great friend.
