Your Chance to Help make the 12th Mother's Day WALK FOR PEACE a Success!
The Walk for Peace is a yearly 3.6-mile walk that takes place in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. The Walk brings together people from across Massachusetts to walk to promote peace, and to highlight the need for the community to band together to cultivate and maintain peace in the community.
Mothers' Walk For Peace
Sunday, May 11th, 2008
7 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Townfield, Fields Corner
The L Street Running Club (all of us!) are being asked to set up a water stop for this event.
They have never had a water stop and because most of the walkers are not used to this activity level, it becomes a bit overwhelming for some along the course.
Yes it is on Mother's Day...but early!
Bring your Mom, or if you are a Mom ...well bring the family!
Email me at kathia_capellupo@hotmail.com, 617-241-5887, if you can meet at 7:30, Townfield, Dorchester Avenue and Park Street on Sunday, May 11th and lend a hand (or two!)
We will need tables, cups, water, Gatorade, and snacks as well as your willingness to pass out refreshments at the only water stop.
Jake Kennedy and his wife walked last year. They were so impressed by what they experienced in 2007, that they not only signed up to walk again this year, but are working with the oranizers to improve some of the logistics.
PLEASE consider helping out!
They expect about 300-400 folks and WE KNOW WATERSTOPS!!!
Don't forget to wear your colors...
Check out the website and call /write if you feel you can assist.
